New for 2008!

Lunches by SUBWAY-

YMCA Camp Ingersoll has partnered with Subway to make fresh, high quality lunches available to campers.  Like the YMCA, Subway is encourages children to choose a healthy life style with exercise and proper nutrition.  This convenient and healthy program is available by the session and costs $60.  Lunches are not available on a day to day basis.


Film Making- (Offered as two 4 week sessions)

You are the writer, director and producer of your very own movie.  Our instructors will help guide participants through the entire process of film making from pre production-(writing and storyboarding) through production (filming) and finally post production (editing and adding music, special effects, etc.) This is a four week program that is designed for teens interested in film and TV media.

 

Hiking Camp- (Available session 1)

If YMCA Camp Ingersoll just isn’t big enough to contain your adventurous spirit give Hiking Camp a try. Travel daily to local hiking hot spots and test your stamina on trails of varying lengths and difficulties. Create lifelong memories with new friends as the session culminates with a two day one night hike on the Appalachian Trail.

 

Triathlon Training Camp- (Available session 2)

Test your limits and compete against others in the fastest growing sport in America. Daily training by Kristen Faucher, our Health and Wellness Director, will provide you with the swimming, biking, and running skills necessary to compete in a triathlon. Kristen is also a certified triathlon trainer and facilitator, and will assist in the running of the YMCA Camp Ingersoll Triathlon on Sunday, July 20th.  This Camp will not only prepare you for the triathlon but will also include the registration and cost of the event.

 

Wilderness Camp-  (Available session 3)

Do not let the elements prevent you from experiencing all that the outdoors has to offer. After two weeks in Wilderness Camp you will to start your own fire no matter the conditions, you will build your own shelters, and you will navigate your way through all types of terrain. Put your skills to the test on a two night excursion with experienced camp counselors. The time to be your own “Survivor Man”, or Woman, is now.  

 

Urban Adventure- Washington D.C.- (Available session 4)

Be a part of your own adventure as you travel by train from New Haven to Washington D.C.; arriving at your youth hostel located in the center of all the hustle and bustle of the city. Travel through the city visiting traditional sights such as The National Mall, The White House, and the Veterans Memorials. Expand your horizons as you visit some of the finest museums in the country and get ready for a fair share of surprises mixed in. If this seems a bit overwhelming you have no need to worry. The first week of this session will be spent meeting new friends, enjoying all that Camp Ingersoll has to offer, and preparing for an Urban Adventure you won’t soon forget.

We still do traditional camp better than anyone, so we have expanded the space available in all of our units.  Now you can tell a friend and not worry about losing a space for your camper.

The cost for session 1 has been reduced by $35.  So start your summer adventure as early as possible.
