We understand the connection between playing and learning. That is why all of the programs
at YMCA Camp Ingersoll are designed to encourage children to make new friends,
learn new skills and spend time with counselors who model the values of caring, honesty,
respect and responsibility. In addition, our goal is to ensure that all campers have an
opportunity to:
-
Develop self-confidence, self-respect, and learn to accept and appreciate their own worth as individuals.
-
Grow as responsible members of their families and citizens of their communities.
-
Form good habits of health and physical fitness; appreciate that health of mind and body is a gift and that physical fitness and mental well-being are conditions to be achieved and maintained.
-
Recognize the worth of all persons and work for interracial, intergender and intergroup understanding.
-
Develop a sense of world-mindedness and work for worldwide understanding.
-
Develop their capacities for leadership and use them responsibly in their own groups and in community life.
-
Develop an interest in, a knowledge of, and respect for the natural world, and work for its conservation.
